Super great family-run hotel, great hosts, super nice staff, fantastic rooms and wellness area. We will be back

The aquarium is a very nice hotel. The food is delicious! The staff was very, very nice and accommodating. Requests were taken into account and implemented quickly. We recommend it to others.

Some of the staff are unfriendly, the Corona Protection Ordinance is not observed. Waiters have thumbs in the soup when serving, bez in the plate. Head waiter does not wear a face mask when serving. We had half board. No options at HP. Breakfast is okay.

There is the star for the sauna area, that restaurant I would have liked to have tested, but after asking twice because of an appointment that has always been refused, we unfortunately couldn't (maybe better that way) because the room that was expected of us was below all Sow. Dirty curtains, dirty furniture, broken amateurs, broken tiles ..... And that in a "4 star" hotel, because I know 3 star hotels that are better.

The location of the hotel is just great - like the place Friedrichstadt. We had a room with a view of the canal. Spacious, a bit dark but ok. The staff is friendly, partly funny and charming, but partly also Northern German cold in the restaurant. The menu is clear and menu-oriented. The food wasn't bad, but nothing special either. It will be difficult to eat varied a la carte here on several days. Rather disappointing. The appearance of the waitresses in the evening was routine, but not authentic or warm. Prices in the restaurant were very high and had a rather "Danish" touch. Service in the breakfast room was great - young, friendly staff - as was the use of the swimming pool / sauna. To be honest, next time we would try the restaurant next door - Klein Amsterdam - to eat. According to the menu, the menu is much richer and there is also a vegetarian section.

For the food, you could also give 5 stars ... very tasty. But unfortunately the waitresses wear the mask under their noses, if at all. A no-go in today's world.

The hotel is ok, but it is astonishing and out of date that American Express is not accepted in a hotel in this price range. If the total amount is then reserved twice on the credit card immediately upon arrival (in our case more than € 1,200), this is also not OK. Allegedly, half should be released immediately. Today (two days later) the amount is still blocked. The breakfast is quite clear but good. The restaurant is very good. Tasty dishes at absolutely reasonable prices. The service is good too. For the restaurant I would have given 5 stars and for the hotel 3 stars, so 4 for the overall impression.

From the 9th of July to the 12th of July my husband and I had a stay at the Ringhotel Aquarium in Friedrichstadt together with our children and granddaughter. Generelly we enjoyed the stay but we have some complains that gave us disappointments.I have booked the stay as an arrangement with breakfast and dinner for 3 evenings with three courses included in the price. The Hotel had told me that the stay for our granddaughter of 2 years was free. I asked for and got the total prize. I therefore took for granted that also the evening meals were free. To my big surprise we were charged for her modest meal. We mentioned that for the reception the first evening but the receptionist would not cancel the payment and for the next two evenings we also had to pay for the girl.Furthermore the soups all 3 evenings were almost similar and the portions were just like a joke......just like nothing! The desserts the first two evenings were the same. The cleaning took only place after 2 days which we were not informed about in advance. It is disappointing that the hotel did not make more efforts to satisfy us. We payed a high price for the stay and we have ecpected lot more from a 4-stars hotel. We were guests in difficult Corona warning times and were served perfectly! Great rooms! Clean & friendly!

We were completely disappointed with this 4 star restaurant 1. One meal was forgotten 2. We got stale bread 3. my meat tasted musty 4. a baked potato was too salty We let the food go back and complained. Aquarium wanted to have paid for the food anyway, we were only waived the drinks and apologized on the grounds that only the trainee was in the kitchen today Never again an aquarium!
